Yet more financial faux pas and many other disasterous decisions

I think they should send it to you - they should have checked with you that the thing you wanted was the new design. We had a very similar problem with a well known outlet and they got it spectularly wrong - ended up sending a whole new innards for our wood burner when we only needed a very small gubbins thing - they only charged us for the very small gubbins thing and we didnt tell them but of the delay and runaround they gave us!
Sending it would be fab but would invove waiting in for a delivery I'm guaranteed to miss which would further delay lighting the stove and I'm liable to get frostbite in the meantime. Can't believe just how cold the house is already. Obviously damp dog and carpets has added to this but even so its chuffing freezing.
On the brightside the bits of carpet that I did clean yesterday look fabulous. Quite scary how different the colour is, and how awful the bits I haven't done look in comparison. Was vaguely thinking I'd finish them off this morning and return the carpet cleaner first thing but I have zero enthusiasm besides which without any heat the carpets won't dry at all which makes doing that a bit daft. Any excuse I know.
Finished knitting fishy fins last night so have a couple of ends to sew in and eyes to cut out and attach and then thats done. Was a wee bit naughty and splurged on some more once used Knit Pro tips on Ravelry to expand my rapidly growing set. Fortunately my e-bay sales are currently at a similar amount so I'm not feeling at all guilty about it. Supose the money would have been better spent on a haircut as I'm looking a little too Princess Di for my liking. Another couple of weeks and I'll morph into Animal (of Muppet Show fame),although without the eyebrows, for even I have standards (just).

Whooooo hoooo its payday!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The calculated cheque gamble almost paid off. Wrote one last week for marginally more than the cash remaining in my bank account. It cleared yesterday taking me into overdraft by £2.03. Fortunately I have a fee free buffer on the account so theres no charges involved. Does mean I start this month with less money than normal but as everything is paid up to date its not as bad as it sounds. Hopefully four months from now I'll be in a position to have a permanently positive balance and savings to fall back on but for the mo. that seems a little surreal. I've spent the last 18 years skint so actually having surplus cash will come as quite a shock. Will need to be very firm on myself so as not to get carried away and end up right back where I started.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Morning Moo
You are doing very well with your money and as you say it wont be long until you have money in the bank every month. You have been a busy wee Moo these last few days. Must be great to have time on your own to actually complete tasks. Sorry to hear about your stove part. Will you get it fitted today?
All the best Moo. Keep us updated."You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream"C. S. Lewis

Far later home than I wanted to be but I am the proud owner of a correctly fitting stove part, even if I did aquire the one from the showroom model. Lovely sales rep was busy demostrating just how thick I was by attempting to go tada but discovered it didn't fit their model either. Still its in, its a far better fit than yesterdays part and it will enable me to light the stove and start warming the house up because its v.v.v. cold. In fact it feels colder indoors than out.
Wading my way through a late lunch of geriatric imitation cup-a-soup which tastes much like you'd expect warm pond water to taste, slightly slimey with a lingering aftertaste of somthing unidentifiable. Still tis another thing out of the cupboard. Only a gazillion more things to go. Will be most glad of the space it generates, although I could cheerfully lob it all in the bin safe in the knowledge that my tastebuds would be eternally grateful.
Have a million and one things to do between now and the DDs arriving home, most important being the eradication of kitchen gadgetry from the dining room and the clearing of the corridor leading to their bedrooms so they stand a chance of sleeping in their own beds tomorrow night. Am most tempted to say sod it and veg but I know I'll regret that tomorrow.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -

Finished cleaning the remainder of the bedroom and landing carpets and progressed to the stair carpet which is seriously in need of replacement. Its going balder even faster than the OH.

CAn't help with Knitting for Eejits but I can do YouTube linkies for those what the !!!! does that mean moments.
Starting with the cack-handed cast on and progressing rapidly on to the yarn fumble (which requires two pointy sticks) and finally the intentional throwing away of perfectly good stitches. Once you've mastered that the rest is simply down to finding the right Youtube video nasty and having a go or three, swearing a lot and trying again. Incidently knitting is far easier after a couple of generously proportioned glasses of vin rouge, the less you think about what you're doing the easier it seems to be.
If you fancy having a go I can bung some needles in the post with an assortment of yarn dregs so you can have a play. The finished fishy weighs 75g and you could use buttons for eyes instead of felt unless like moi you happen to have a heap of that lying around too.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500
