  • Hello again, had my response to my appeal surprise surprise it was turned down.but this is the email i sent to them regarding my appeal
    "Hello
I parked on st peters car park mansfeild and as you can see from my
address above im not local and so have never used this car park before.i
had a look to see how much i needed to pay and saw it was free for 30
    min.i was in the shop 15-20max.when i came out i find a ticket,i went
and had another look to see if i should have paid to see that you needed
    to show a ticket.

Now im not saying i should not have got a ticket but as you can see from
the photo the free parking is in large bold writing and the display
ticket is very small.for the sake of printing a free ticket why would i
risk getting a ticket .unles it was an honest mistake

I hope you can help with this matter

    Thanks lee"

in the response its looks like the same standard letter they send out but they also put
"on the day in question a pay and display ticket or a free ticket was not displayed when the contravention occurred.you confirmed this by stating in your correspondence to our selves "it was free for 30 mins".our signs are positioned at the entrance and again at regular intervals in and around the car park.all the aforementioned clearly state"1/2 hour -free (ticket required).furthermore,it is not unreasonable for us to expect motorists to check the signs in situ before leaving their vehicle.unfortunately ,as you failed to display a pay and display or a free ticket, the fact remains that you were parked in contravention of the terms and conditions of the car park.therefore, the notice was issued correctly and the charge will stand. etc ect ect

have i shot my self in the foot by sending this email or should i do as the rest of you do with these tickets

    thanks for any advise lee
  • it also states in the letter
"we must advise that motorists are required to obtain a free ticket and display it in the front windscreen of their vehicle with the details clearly visible.this is so that our parking attendants can ascertain when a vehicle entered the car park, and ensure that motorists do not overstay their free half hour permitted"

all the letters i have read seem to be standard letters were this one seems to be a direct letter to me,if you understand what i mean

thanks for all and any advise
