alarm siren - indoor or outdoor?

Hi, we are looking at alarm systems and wondering whether to go for a siren that is indoor or outdoor.

Does anyone have any recommendations or experience?

thanks

  • you can have both ...with mine, the indoor siren reduced the sound level of the outdoor one ..may be different now though.

and the whole point of an alarm system is to make a racket so the neighbours phone the police when you are not there .

    all the best.markj

I think its irrelevant as everbody ignores them when they go off.
Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.

....and if yours goes off frequently for any false alarm reason, then, as well as ignoring it, your neighbours will be mucho annoyed at you.

the sirens we have in our office & workshop are way louder then the external one. The idea is thieves will be discouraged from lingering if their ears are bleeding due to the noise

Had both on my old system, internal one I would recommend a Sound Bomb !
These run at 110 - 120db so are very loud, they give off a very high pitch and are extremely effective at getting you out of the area, the noise is unbearable and soon makes you nausious.

    thanks.

the only problem i find with internal ones, is that when they go off accidentally, as they occasionally do, they are ear splitting! can't be good for the ears, especially for children.

We currently have an internal one installed, but had I known, would have gone for an external one.
