I agree carl. Having individual packaging for each and every cup is pretty irresponsible really.

it`s much cheaper to get one of those milk frothers. £2.5 for a cheap one and £8 for a powerful one. Warm the milk and froth up. Makes superb cappucinos if poured onto strong coffee, which we make in a cafetiere. Divine if you whip up real hot chocolate ie montezuma or green and blacks

The cheap ones are available free from Baileys (see thread in freeby board).
Better ones are available for £1 at the pound shop!
The £5 Bodum ones in Tesco are the best. They have a 'flexible' joint so you can bend and brake them if you accidently put pressure on the whisk.

I used to use the same routine as you for ages kittie! Only changed a few weeks ago. Yes the frothers and cafetiere are cheaper, but the end drinks are simply not as good as a proper espresso machine (in my opinion)!

    hi,
could anyone tell me if the tassimo machine is worth buying or will it become another gismo that i will use once and file away?has anyone seen it cheaper than £79.99 cos i received a £20 refund voucher valid till 31/01/07 so it would be £59.99 but still have to justify £60 which may be better spent elsewhere if machine is not wonderful.many thanks for any advice.

Love my Tassimo and use it several times a day. Can recommend the cappucinos mixed with hot skimmed milk in a nice large mug. Yum. :)
  • Yes mine is noisy to sounds like roadworks outside !had it a year now, my favourite is cappuchino, I do the expresso first and then the milk.I mostly let the water go through and when its back on manual light give it another blast,if you no what I mean.
  • thank you to all posters.very grateful for all the opinions and mixed reviews which surprised me.might wait for novelty to wear off or price to go down.got a feeling it may be just an expensive kettle and just received my free baileys frother so will ponder on it for now.
People bring great joy into our lives..some by arriving, others by leaving.im trying to be one of the former, so please bear with :)

I've got a coffee filter machine and drinks frother. I prefer using them as you can make any kind of drink with them using cheaper ingredients, than being tied to buying a particular brand of pod.
Here I go again on my own....
  • We got one for free yesterday and will be taking it back to the store to try for a refund.

I love my Tassimo and compared with the amount I used to spend on coffee on my way in to work and at lunchtime (I worked in an office up until March, now self employed at home) it is an absolute bargain.

I don't smoke, hardly drink so this is my indulgence.

With other people having them and using them once or twice only, perhaps they will be easy to pick up at car boots or on e-bay at a bargain price?
