help with returning shoes to shop

Options
my mum bought my daughter a pair of shoes skechers from a local shop i nipped out the shop while they were looking for the size 10 and 11 i told them that my daughter was in between and when i came back in and she had the shoes on i asked what size she had on and they said 9 i said i was surprised she fits into them and to check them ans she said she felt her toe and they fit and that american made shoes are made bigger, and she cut the labels off, we got home and my daughter had blisters and comparing to a pair off shoes i bought the week before they were an inch shorter i phoned the shop and they told me to bring the shoes in, they didn't have the size in and phoned other shops none had them and said they could order them in but it would take a 4 weeks and the bigger size is more expensive or we could have our money back, my daughter wanted the shoes so we agreed to re order and i phoned the shop who now say its going to take till oct to get the shoes in and we'll only get a credit note even though we have a receipt and thats a goodwill gesture. Are we entitled to our money back:rotfl::rotfl:

Who was the 'they' in the above scenario, your mum or the person who works in the shop?

  • The shop assistant said it was a 9 and told me they fit as she's 5 and the shoes light up my daughter would say they fit even if they didn't.

Did you check where her toe was in the shoe yourself?

laura, at the risk of sounding pedantic to the extreme, it really would help everybody of you slowed down a bit and used some punctuation, it really would reduce any potential confusion. ;)

I think, unfortunately, you let a 5 year old convince you to buy the shoes because she wanted that design.
I'm afraid your daughter has pulled the wool over your eyes.

You are not entitled to a refund simply because something doesn't fit.

This is true, although a child UK size 9 is only a 9.5 in the US.

She is entitled to a refund because a trained member of staff advised her that they were the correct size and they're not so they've been missold!

    Are you sure about that?
