I purchased product code Product code: 939419
The product shown in picture is not the item i received.
The web site is very misleading showing a BELLING Classic 100DFT Dual Fuel Rangestyle Cooker – Silver Product code: 888274
The product details state:
It has 8 burners... it has 7
It does not have a glass lid.... it has
There is no back splash emblem has shown in picture
The oven doors should be arch shaped they are square
I thought by law it should state a accurate description of the goods and if its overall presentation in any way deceives or is likely to deceive the average consumer by illustration (e.g. in advertisements or on packaging) or by implication.
i contacted with the Aftersales team on 08445 611 111, nothing they could do but pick up and cancel the order. Would not offer me any discount for reordering another cooker.the advert is still on their web site and been there for 2 weeks, i wonder how many more people are going to fall for this

they offered to pick up and refund - where is the problem?
There is nothing wrong with what they have offered - they have the expense for the whole time it takes them to fix the website, but in the meantime its not actually costing you or anyone else other than Dixons money - there are no grounds other than goodwill for them to offer a discount I am afraid.0 -
I can understand it's annoying, but it's a mistake on Dixons' part - not a scam - so no one will "fall for it" per se.0

There is no problem, it's the usual 1st time poster drama queen.0 -
the problem being if they offer a product which is not correct and has false product details and photo where do you draw the line of whats legal ?
the fact they offer to pick up is because they have to under distance regulations.
i had to have my old cooker reconnected and will have to wait for the pick up of cooker and refund which will take forever knowing these retail firms.
but bottom line is you should get what you ordered not a totally different product.0 -
Can you not just accept that perhaps they just made a mistake? When a company has hundreds/thousands of products on their website, mistakes do happen. When they do, it's important to see how the company acts; in this case, Dixons appear to have acted correctly. For all we know, the model you received is the replacement for the one on their website, and they haven't updated their website yet. Either that, or they really just did send the wrong model out to you.
Maybe the thread's title should be "Dixons have made a mistake on their website".0 -
I can see where the problem lies with Dixons getting confused.
Belling do a Classic 100DFT with 7 burners. They also do a Country Classic 100DFT with 8 burners. Dixons probably weren't even aware that they had got a different one to what they thought. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Perhaps this should be moved to Praise, Vents and Warnings. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0

What surprises me is the lack of research on an expensive product. By the time I got to the "order button" I would know the specs inside out and be able to spot a problem.0

And how exactly has that helped the OP?
Cue another judgemental thread about a new poster's query. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -
It sounds like they've just delivered the wrong item, rather than misled on the advert. Codes are pretty similar, there's been an error in stock picking and you've been sent a different model to the one you ordered. You've pointed out mistake, they've said they will rectify, it's a bit inconvenient but there's not really much more they can do. Certainly doesn't seem like they've done anything dodgy and untoward0
