Thanks for all your replies and excellent tips.
I am thinking of looking at a few second hand kitchens, to save cost and do my bit for recycling. Thanks for the info about IKEA handles been cheaper.

Hi,
Just had a flyer from Wickes with 50% off some of their kitchens.

Hi,
After looking around at several take-away DIY range kitchens I have chosen Wickes Michigan high gloss shaker style. The doors seem decent quality and have a coated finish which I hope will make it easy to clean down. Units come with handles and plinths. Apparently this range will soon be replaced but there is 30% off.

Do you have a local TRADE DEPOT near you? They have cheapish kitchens of a quality they claim match or exceed Howdens. Flat pack and pre-assembled. They dont have a website, by ring this number for the southampton branch maybe able to help. 023805211000

I got mine from b&Q and so far its been really good quality and very easy to put together!
B&Q also worked out cheaper than any other company including wickes for a simular style,.
Always buy your handles and other bits and bobs like underworktop lighting from ikea and worktops from wickes!0 -

just fitting an ikea kitchen and will gladly do it again, only thing i didn't like about them was there silly wall brackets for the wall units, its basically an L bracket with which offers very little adjustment, next time i will just buy proper brackets from screwfix.
for £912 its looking quite good, all doors and drawers soft close too(protective covers not removed yet so don't look the bright red there meant to be), if we had not went for the end panels, plinths and pelmets it would have been £200 cheaper. oh and ignore the old crappy cooker
lol
