Another question about manufacturers coupons - if they do expire and the SA doesn't read the date, will they still scan through?? Do tills recognise when a coupon has expired???
Would be grateful for a reply - especially about using the Tesco HB/Quit Kit after they expire - THANK YOU!!!!XXXX
AFAIK, manufacturers' coupons do scan after the expiry date - it is just down to the cashier to check the date.
I don't know about the Tesco own coupons though. I wouldn't dare try it myself - I get embarrassed enough as it is - without coupons being refused for being out-of-date!0 -
Actually, I had one of the vouchers from the Tesco mag recently, it was for Shreddies. I had bought the product and handed over the coupon but the till beeped as it was 1 day past it expiry date. HTH

Sorry about your awful time angela6834, where the vouchers accepted though? I hope so.
Leadhead, that's a great tip about the coupons! Just had a look at a few of mine to confirm. Groovy stuff. ( I need to get out more! :rotfl:)"I did then, what I knew then. And when I knew better, I did better"0 -

Well to be honest i got that many toiletries etc that i couldnt tell you specificly(excuse the spelling!) but i do know the vouchers that i did have worked if you know what i mean! ie £2,50 of £10 h+b expire next month £2 of £8 b+t that expired today and possibly id imagine qb but cant be sure about that one! because i only had a few of them and they could of gone off something else.0 -
You may find that the Dove deodorant is an either/or (not sure which)
You can definately use one of each with the Radox, but it may only let you use one for the Dove..........(not sure which)
Otherwise your sums are ok..........but spend another £3.36 min on say Radox(to make your total £16) and you can use another 2(one of each) and another £2 one
buy 5 £1.58 Radox and 1 £1.98 one
2 Dove £6.32.................£5
6 Radox £9.88................£3.94
total £16.20.....................£8.94
5(if Dove is only either/or) x £1.25 + 2 x£2(off £8) = £10.25 off your £8.94 shop.
You've also got the luxury here, that even if another £1.25 fails....youve still got it all for nothing...........
Always try to spend the amount that gives you the most coupon usage.....eg
if all your items accept both coupons..........
£14 usually allows you to use 4 x £1.25 and 1 x £2......but
£15 usually allows you to use 6 x £1.25 and 1 x £2.......but
£16 usually allows you to use 6 x £1.25 and 2 x £2.........so for an extra £2 on the £14.....youve used 2 x £1.25 and a £2..........its like buying cheap money.........luvlee jublee.
Hope this helps everyone trying to maximise their coupon use.
PS neosi......just realised I answered a similar question to this(Lynx and Colgate) on the H&B thread last week, which you didn't acknowledge.
thank you very much. just one question, forgive if i sound silly. if i buy a total of £16, could i use all the vouchers in one transaction? or do i have to split them into 3?0 -

They accepted some of them....but said they couldnt take the bill down by more than half......and this was before the bogof's??? I knew that wasnt the case but didnt really want to push it anymore.....am just going to do it in smaller amounts from now on!!! They printed off a copy of my receipt by customer services and checked through all of my shopping before taking them....I felt like a criminal!!!:eek:DS Anthony Steven 07.06.92DD Becky Emma 24.01.94DD Rose Grace Jean 12.05.090 -

No sure if they are tightening up on these through the tills now.
I did a shop at lunchtime where i bought 2 * nivea suncream £10.99 BOGOF, but nothing else from beauty or toiletry.
The rest of my shop came to over £40 before discounts, less than £40 after.
I handed over 2 * £2.50 off a £10 T/B shop (so beautiful vouchers) and 4 £1.25 Beauty QK vouchers, a £4 off £40 homeplus voucher and a £3.50 Book voucher from the Mail from a while ago.
The tills took both £2.50 vouchers, only 2 of the QK, the £3.50 book voucher and then refused the £4 one.
Furthermore, it only accepted 2 * 50 point vouchers with £2 B/T spend.
I don't know why it should accept both £2.50, but then refuse additional £1.25 ones, or only take 2 * 50 point coupons after that.
It does show that you need to spend £40 after discounts for the £4 Homeplus voucher to work, though.
