Removal Companies

Hello,
We are looking for removal companies. We had a dodgy one that moved us in so now we are moving out, we want to make sure we get a good one. How do I know they are a reputable company and any ideas of average costs to move a 3 bed property??
Thanks
SB

If you give an area, someone might be able to recommend a company.

PS Do you want them to pack for you too?

  • We live in Purley in Surrey.

I do not need them to pack too, I would prefer to do that myself. BUT we may need all our stuff taken into storage as we are as yet to find a property to go to. Buyers nearly finished on ours though oooppps!

We used Ants removals who were good, and will do storage for you too (http://antsremovals.co.uk/). They may not be as close as you want (they are in North London), but are members of a couple of organisations so it might be worth looking up those organisations' websites and seeing if you can search for somebody in your area.

    They are:

National Guild of Removers and Storers: http://www.ngrs.co.uk/ (they have a postcode search you can use - will only pull up the closest 3 though, so you might want to try a few different postcodes near you).

The National Register of Approved Removers & Storers (which means membership of an ombudsman scheme): http://www.movingetc.co.uk/tradebodies/roars.html

Where are you moving to ?
  • Thanks DizzyDasher, I will check out those sites.

dacouch, we do not have a place to move to as yet, hence why we need someone who can do storage! When we do find a house it will be in the same area as we are in now.
