EItherway, I'd try with the same cable you use at home to eliminate if it's the cable being the weak link. I have a few mini-usb at home and work and not all are the same despite appearances.
Could always be a dodgy USB port of course? Does the device manager flag anything up when you plug in?0 -

It works with another lead so I can drag and drop files in Windows Explorer, however HTC sync still shows that no device is connected!
But how are you meant to know if a lead is supposed to work or not?.....0
