Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Friday 15th July. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Bonjour
Just thought I would start you off, had a good nights sleep and ready for the second stage of the trip. Just having brekky in our room, OS style of course.
(((hugs))), spoons, congrats as appropriate.
Take care all - DG

Good Morning Donny-gal and all who follow.Thank you all for youe kind thoughts yesterday ,this OS 'family ' are lovely, and so supportive.I kept busy yesterday with the school run and taking the tribe to the dentist and the day went very quickly.I stayed to dinner at DDs last night and her OH brought home two lovely bouquets of flowers ,one for her and one for me .He is a smashing chap and very thoughtful.I got home quite late and had two messages from my brother davy in france who I had missed as I was out all day and one from my eldest DDs MIL who is a sweetie and rings me every night to make sure I'm o.k.People are so kind and never failto renew my faith in human nature .We here and see such a lot of bad feelings at time but underneath I have great faith in folks humanity ,especially on here.
Well I have the school run this morning then the afternoon off as I have my History class. My son-in-law is picking the boys up as its their sports day.two of the boys got their school reports yesterday and I am very pleased as one got 5 As and 7 Bs and the 10 year old Henry, who is normally sports mad and you think isn't paying attention managed 6 A s and 6 Bs so we were all very pleased with the two of them The older one Jack (11) is off to senior school and has been put in the top class of the grammar stream I have promised them I will treat them to a new school bag each as a present for doing well, and we are going to choose them at the end of the month.Katie managed a 'C' in college on her 3 A level course so she is a happy bunny.I am pleased that they are all doing well and trying their best, plus they are all happy at what they are doing which is even more important.
Right I think as its nice I will strip the bed and get the washing on and with luck it will be dried, aired and ironed and back on the bed by tonight.Time for some coffee to kick start my engine as well Hope everyone has a great Friday what ever you are doing.
Take care

Morning my lovelies
Up mega early thanks to Killer Cat leaping about the place. Again. Why does she do this BEFORE 6am
Anyway decided to get up, make me and H a drink and enjoy some quiet solitude. Didn't last long as DD woke but there was definately 10 mins of quiet there LOL
Feeling bit better after yesterday. Sun's shining but weather looking decidely dicey for tomorrows party. Meh.
Anyway yet another busy day, got BBQ at school after I pick DD up from pre school so heading to that lunchtime. then I need to come back and work on some more party prep. My mum bless her is coming round in the morning to lend a hand. So the likelihood of me squeezing in some housework is looking pretty dim.
No idea whats for tea, might do cajun chicken as I have some natural yoghurt that needs using up.
Hugs and spoons all round. Have a good day OS or not.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks
All will be well in the end. If it's not well, it's not the end.Be humble for you are made of earth. Be noble for you are made of stars0 -

Morning all
After 2 days of grey and cold it's lovely here.
WELCOME MONNAGRAN
Big hugs to anyone who needs one.
I've got my friend's dog here at the mo, he's feeling a bit sorry for himself as he's got folliculitis (sp) and is on anti-biotics, will take him for a walk in a bit. Not looking forward to giving him his tablets though.
Ds is going to his Dad's tonight as I'm at work, will take some left-over lasagne from the freezer with me. Need to crack on with sanding the hall this morning.
Have a good day all

Why did you have a mask and goggles on :eek::eek:
ETA: I read it as soup not soap.......doooh
I'm still feeling very positive and pain free:T:T:T No OS for me though as I have to go to MK today with DD for birthday shopping. Except DD is in a grump and moody with the time of the month rubbish so should be fun (not). Anyway I wont let her quash my PMA today.
Also very un OS is the fact that I saw and bought a painting yesterday. I was doing some detective work for Mooloo in a mews of shops and just saw it - it made my heart sing. The artist let me take it home to try it for size and Kids Dad is going to pay for it today as it is for my birthday. Every time I look at it I feel positive and happy:T:T:T
Lots of washing to do still. DS2 washing from Wakestock is festering in the garage but not for much longer as I think Kids Dad will chuck it if it doesnt find it's way into the washing machine. He has been told but as it's all his old stuff he doesnt care much.
Have a lovely day xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: at this, you are a tonic Molly! Delighted to hear about your gift. xx
Bargainbird glad to see you back I was worried, I am only dipping in and out myself, but you were conspicuous by your absence. xxx
Well I am having a day off today, an old friend is picking me up at 10.30, we are off for a facial, massage and manicure then lunch out, then I / we are meeting up with the girls from my work at four for dinner and some drinks. So looking forward to tuning out.
I went yesterday with my sister to pay for the civil ceremony and post her banns, and she brought me to tears (not difficult atm, tbh) by asking me to choose and read something at the ceremony. I have deja vu, have I told you this already? Anyway, I have a favourite piece of poetry which I think is beautiful and completely appropriate, and she loves it. I would never have suggested it, but I am over the moon and honoured to be asked. This is going to be a very special day, everything is coming together nicely. I have bought two frocks and when the second one arrives I shall decide which to keep. Keeping it MSE, they were both half price
Not much OS going on atm, washing, cooking meals and doing the dishes about covers it I am afraid
Keep well everyone, have a gorgeous day.
