Hi
I was wondering if anyone could help me with some info on things to do/see in the weston super mare/ burnham on sea area. We are a family of 4 (2 Adults 2 Children aged 8/10 ). If anyone knows of anywhere good to visit or eat the advice would be apreciated. We are going for 12 nights.
Thanks

Hi,
There is a Sea Life centre on the sea front in Weston. Normally it's included in the 2 for 1 vouchers on crisps and cereals. The pier has been rebuild and only opened last year. I think the Weston wheel(a smaller London Eye) is still there too?
Try coming up to Bristol, it's only 20mins on the motorway from Weston. We have the Zoo and a couple of museums (museums are free). Have a look at: https://www.visitbristol.co.uk for some ideas. Another place to visit is Noah's Ark, it's a zoo/wildlife park between Weston and Bristol. If you have Voucher Cloud or Groupon you should find some discount codes/vouchers for money off. HTH, if I think of anything else I will let you know. Unfortunately, when you live in the area you forget about all the great days out just on your doorstep :rotfl:0 -

Them herring gulls are good shots too!0 -
Cheddar Gorge or Wookey Hole are good for a day,
Depends on what your kids like to do, think longleat is only an hours drive away, you can get a combined ticket for Cheddar Gorge and Longleat iirc.
Brean Sands could be ok.0 -
I live in Weston and work in Burnham. In Burnham- not much specific to go to/do. The Chandni restaurant in the High street is recommended. The shops there are mostly independent smaller shops and not too many of them. There is the beach but Weston's is far superior so you are better off there.
In Weston- you obviously have the pier (which I haven't actually been on myself yet). There is not a sea life centre in Weston as a previous poster pointed out, it is a seaquarium and they get quite fed up of people trying to use sea life centre vouchers in there. The shops are mostly chains and there are loads more than Burnham plus there are restaurants of every different type in Weston and fast food shops of just about every type. If you like italian, Botellinos on the boulevard has really good value lunch and early evening deals. They have a website if you want to check them out before hand.
As the others have suggested there is longleat and bristol zoo and things if that is up your street or if you like the more adventerous stuff there are 2 indoor kart tracks in Weston now and a newly opened indoor paintballing place (not been myself) or skirmish paintballing in Portishead which is really good.
If you want to know anymore, just ask0 -

Definitely recommend Bottelinos although I've not eaten at the one in Weston. Lunch times are £5.95 and you get the full sized pasta/pizza and it is v. Yummy! They also do the early evening between 5.30 & 6.30 but check with the restaurant itself first. We certainly have it in Portishead (apart from Saturday).
there is Puxton Park just outside of Weston - near the m-way junction. Not overly cheap but kids do have a good time there.0 -

Sand sculptures are excellent! On from Saturday 11 June - Sunday 4 September 2011. Cost about £3 entry if I can remember!
I'm a new poster so can't post links - just close the gaps!0
