I think you're being very good for her, working double shifts to afford this, if she is getting very angry and upset I'd explain how much you're doing for her so she can have a nice party with nice things.

Not saying my parents had a great parenting ability but if I was angry or upset when they were doing so much for me I'd have been left with no party at all

I'm sure whatever you do for her she and her friends will have a brilliant time, you sound like a really good mum and willing to do alot for your children and I have alotta respect for that :)

Hi, what about changing it to the day before so they go ice skating at 6pm (if it's on) then a sleepover and then get up to go to the pamper party. Then they can go home. :p

My DS went to a party with a limo earlier this year, they gave the children a glass of 'bubbly' (fruit based non-alcoholic drink) and then they toured about, there was also games to play in the car (not sure what it was though  playstation maybe - but this was a party of all boys)
  • You could cancel the pamper party and run one yourself slightly later in the day - £10 per head is more than enough to get nail polishes, stickers for them, use straighteners/curling irons on them, etc. And you'd be able to get nicer food, add in music to your tastes, etc.

If the suggestion leads her to go ballistic, then cancel the lot. Then you can give her the opportunity to have what you offered or nothing. No point spending a fortune if you're going to have to deal with a sulking or stropping child to suck all the joy out of the occasion because you couldn't afford to entertain a bunch of kids for 20 odd hours.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

    I got it!

I have just woken her up (yes I know bad mum). And have told her straight (in a good way) that this is what is happening. Her and one friend come to city centre with me so she can spend her bday money (have a large family all live 300 miles away) lose them in the mall (she wont leave the mall) and then the invites she gives out will be for sleep over from 6pm for the rest of her friends and DVDs and lots if munchies that her and her other friend can help me make/bake.

If they wish to go skating that's fine no probs (have plenty of free tickets)

She said cancel the lot zzzzzz.

So I'm just doing new invites for her. (school breaks up tomorrow)

    Hope she goes with this.
