I bought a Dell desk top and had to pay a huge £50 postage ! the computer comes from Ireland, but i agree, its far to much. £30 would be ok ,then a week later they had a free postage week ! it must have just finished.
I dont think, if you call Dell they are going to say when the next postage deal is,but they seem very regular.
No harm in calling them though,go through saynoto0870 and get the cheaper number to call.

rthirlby. Put that link on and he says he is a Laptop Repair Engineer,so if he says its good,it should be.The memory isnt much so you will have to increase that. Not sure if ita a dvd rewriter either.with Dell its hard to update certain things on their computers. My brother, who has built his own computers, picked my Dell computer out,he got me 1gb Ram,250gb hard disc, and huge graphic card.I got it from Dell outlet, so theres nothing on mine at the moment i want to upgrade to on it.
For a laptop,i would never go for one thats <£200-£300 >they are not a sturdy as a Desk top computer<so my brother says >

Yeah I know they're not as sturdy or powerful, but I already have a desktop, I need the laptop for college. But as it'll be secondary to my desktop I don't want to pay huge amounts.

Ok ,Tesco used to do a laptop for £299,that was a Acer,or Woolworth have a laptop for half price, but its been in my local Woolworth for months now. have you looked at Comet or pcworld ? they have a sale on at the moment.make sure its got enough ram, some laptops sell with 250gb of ram,how on earth you would run Windows xp on that ! and at least 80gb of hard disc. come back and tell us what you bought in the end.
  • I vote Dell, as my Acer was pants and nothing but trouble (I think it had almost every part replaced at some point) - however my dad had to almost stalk Dell to get them to actually send me my current laptop (inspiron 640m) - worth it though as it's fab! Good luck deciding :)

Sorry to hijack your thread, but we're looking for a laptop that'll be good for gaming and internet. What sort of spec would we need and would the Dell one the OP mentioned be any good? Thanks in advance ;)

what kind of gaming you thinking of? and what kinda budget do you have :)?
