Tesco interview

You are focusing to much on competitors. Give them something fresh like you have noticed at most tram/train stations there is usually a tesco express and a 24hr Tesco within a 1 mile radius of a secondary school. And say how they bought Kwik Save in 2007.
Employers like it when people talk about them type of things it shows that you have taken time out to research the company. It's better to regret something I did do than to regret something that I didn’t. :EasterBun0 -
And it you are going to look at competitors you need to talk about insurance, mobiles, books, electricals they are taking on every shop you can think of. Don't be surprised if they soon take on the water board as they are currently being urged to sell gas and electric. Tesco wants everything under there umbrella. It's better to regret something I did do than to regret something that I didn’t. :EasterBun0

I wouldn't worry too much about researching the competition. I don't remember ever being asked about that in my interviews with Tesco. It depends on the job you're applying for - but, for example, in my phone interview for a job at their call centre, I was asked about what I thought the advantages/disadvantages of communicating with customers over the phone were.
In my job interview for a customer assistant role, I think I was asked about when I had worked in a team. You'd be far better off really thinking about your past experience and how its relevant to the job you're applying for. There's no point researching every last thing about Tesco because a lot of it you won't be asked about. Like a lot of companies, I think Tesco do more 'competency' interviews now, where you have to give examples of when you have done such and such - worked in a team, given good customer service.
(I did get a job with them by the way)0 -

we swear by Waitrose as its the only supermarket near us that actually treats its customers with respect, it you have to take someone back and they are at fault they admit it and apologise.
Tesco, never at fault always the customer
Asda, absolute disgrace for customer service, i could not reach something on the top shelf, so I saw a member of staff walking up the aisle and asked for help, he said its not my department and walked off.
Sainsbury, no tongs for the bakery said they refuse to keep replacing them if customers stole them, and saw them putting chips back into a split bag from the freezer by hand.
Its true what they say you get what you pay for0 -
