Brilliant post!
Main competitor when I was in the business was Sainsburys. I'm pretty sure now Asdi and Morrisons will have increased there market share.
You will have to look more locally if you really want to "research" for a job interview at Tesco.Per Mare Per Terram0 -
Seriously I don't think it will matter to the OP who the competitors are. They will be far more interested in his ideas of customer service and so on I should think.
i think the OP is just researching the competitor thing off his own back rather than being told to. I take it OP you are gong to research other points about tesco and not just focus on the competitors.0 -
I'd say that Asda, Sainsburys and Morrisons are their main competitors. Tesco are part of the big four... no-one else really comes close?0

Depends on the job role as well, If you're interviewing for a managerial role, then of-course some research will show enthusiasm, initiative and drive (or whatever). However if it's going to be a checkout job... or stacking shelves you might be better off explaining how would benefit them in team-work and customer service.:www: Progress Report :www:

don't just look at in-store. tesco drect's main competitor is Amazon. The tesco in store catalogue's is Argos. etc.
What other types of products do they sell and in those products who are their competitors.
Who are their competitors recruitment wise? I know they had an ace graduate programme but you could look at the times top 100 for an answer as to who's in the top 10 now.
As others have said though, make sure you research other elements too and refer back to the job description to do so.
Good luck!0 -
What about the Co-op, particularly if it's an Express store you want to work in.0

Did you get the job OP0

I used to interview people in retail and this type of thing drove me mad. If someone didnt know something as basic as that they were not getting a job.
Copying and pasting stuff off the internet without actually thinking about it is the worst kind of research.0
