  • Audi?!!!! Bahahahahahaha!!!!

    Maybe that's Aldi?!! ;-)

And I'm not sure Waitrose is a competitor as such..... Not according to the middle classes anyway!

    Good luck though

I wouldnt really class lidl and aldi as competitors since they are more in the discount shop format eg low prices stack them high format, waitrose and m and s are more up market food. Iceland again dont come across as a competitor. Main competitors id say are asda, sainsburys and morrisons.

don't just look at in-store. tesco drect's main competitor is Amazon. The tesco in store catalogue's is Argos. etc.

It's very much store dependant, if the interview is for a specific store the OP needs to be looking at any of the retailers around that area, the area i live has a Morrisons, Aldi and Netto and no others for miles so for direct competitors it would be dependant on which one the interview was with but the big 4 take the discounters very seriously, it's only last year Tesco rebranded their cheaper lines to look similar to the discounters brands.

I've seen price comparisons in Tesco for Aldi, so I thnk it's relevant.

And in Waitrose they compare prices with Tesco.. lots of lables on the shelf declaring that they are competitive. Waitrose has tried to appeal to the less well off now. I use Waitrose because it's the only one I can easily get to which is how most people choose their shop.

If you have to ask on here who might be competitors for Tesco, and you don't know that Sainsbury is one of their most significant competitors, are you sure the jodb is right for you?

Seriously I don't think it will matter to the OP who the competitors are. They will be far more interested in his ideas of customer service and so on I should think.

yes tesco introduced them lines last year to be similar to the discounter brands but tht was only 1 range of items whereas sainsburys, asda and morrisons and maybe waitrose to an extent all compete with tesco on all brands/lines.

Netto is hardly a contendor since they're were taken over by asda.

Ive not shopped in waitrose so cant really comment on who they target, im going on my perception of what i used to think of waitrose.
