Why not do it properly and run a spur from an existing socket to a new double socket? Lengthy trailing leads look a mess and are a trip hazard, surface mounting a spur can be done with little cost or disruption.No free lunch, and no free laptop

Current extension leads are tidied away, and against the wall with cable ties.0
