Need to extend two 6 plug extension leads.

I have two 6 socket extension leads (surge and overload protected) servicing all the electronics in my room.
I want to move some furniture around, but I only have one power socket with 2 plugs, and the extension leads wont stretch to where I want them.
Can I just buy 2 extension leads with 13 amp plugs? Looking at these - http://www.maplin.co.uk/5m-extension-lead-1207
Cheers

yes provided you don't overload the 13A socket.
probably get them cheaper elsewhere, amazon, supermarkets etc.!!

They're not overloading anything at the moment. Not going to be adding any additional devices, just extending the range.
Will look on Amazon - do I just look for something that can handle 13A?
The current extension leads I have are rated up to 3000W0 -
You can, but it's really not best to daisy-chain extension leads.2.66GHz Intel i7 920, Socket 1366 (B) Nehalem

Yeah I know. Used to get told off at work by the build services team for doing that.MikeWhitehead wrote: »You can, but it's really not best to daisy-chain extension leads.
But if it's just a 1 way lead, and I've already got a surge/overload protector one in the chain, I'm thinking it won't be that bad.0 -
Actually I could just buy a couple of these as they are only a little more than getting a 1 way extension lead, plus I wouldn't have to daisy-chain - http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000L99YSE0

Are they sealed? of not, why not just replace the cable in them?0

The problem is not overloading them, the problem is high cable resistance slowing the operation of the protective device (fuse or circuit breaker) in the event of a fault.
That fault could be electricity flowing through you.
Guidelines for max length of extension leads - do NOT cascade:
0.75mm flex: 7.5 metres length
1.00mm flex: 10 metres length
1.25mm flex: 12.5 metres length
1.5mm flex: 15 metres length (you may find it difficult to find 13A plugs and sockets that will accept cable this thick)A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0
