Signed 3 network one-plan iphone deal today. Can I return it?

Most likely it wasn't Three but another company pretending to be three, I get them on Vodafone too, and they come unstuck when you ask them to tell you something on your account. Last time they did they said I had a Motorola L7 as my phone. I did, three phones ago, and Vodafone would know that as they did the upgrades.
but then how would that carry on my contract? I'm frightfully naive at this kind of thing!0 -

They know the number you are on and the 3rd party sells you an upgrade, easy but annoying as you think your dealing with your provider.0 -
Three is the classic example of false economy. You think that you get a cheaper plan with more minutes and more data with 3 than other providers, however the reality is that 3 reception is very patchy - meaning that I rarely use my phone's internet features except when connected to my home WiFi connection. Also their customer service is really poor with reps who are clearly still learning English.
I think you should have 14 days to return the product - which I would do if I were you. I am not sure about Vodafone's service because I have only been with 3 and O2. 3 is a bloody nightmare from customer service to reception. Everything looks fine on their Map, but I get no reception in the office at all, and minimal reception at home. I'll be switching back to the O2, as I would rather pay for their level of service and actually get it!
"Good thing no cheap and cheap thing no good" - not sure if Confuscious actually said that!0 -
I can't speak much for Vodafone apart from to say I live in a 2G area and I've yet to use my broadband dongle in an area that has 3g coverage (admittedly I've only tried it in 4 or 5 places nationally).
I was on Three and had good 3g coverage but it kept roaming onto 2g and losing all connectivity. The customer service was appalling and after waiting 50 mins on hold, I ported my number to giffgaff (on the O2 network).
The data speeds on O2 are excellent when you can get a 3G connection but my experience is that their 3G coverage is shocking. I've downloaded and installed the 3g coverage app that the BBC launched today - and it has recorded 50% 2G/50% 3G to date - not a glowing indictment for O2.
Coverage varies massively from area to area. Don't listen to what anyone else says - try for yourself or ask someone in the area you intend to use your phone in (get a free PAYG sim card perhaps?)
Personally I'd like to go back to Three (but in my case I'm not prepared to pay double what I paying before I left, but for half the data limit).0 -
You know three offer unlimted data for 15 pounds a month now about the same amount of minutes as the 10 giffgaff goody bag.
Im same as you and have giffgaff and used to be on three and three is 10 times better in my area only problem is my new phone is unlocked on all networks except 3 otherwise very tempting to go back to three as they allow teethering and giffgaff dont. But like all others say best to check with paygo sim first if you think there could be problem in your area .0 -

I've travelled all over the UK. Even 3 years ago, 3 had far better total 3G coverage than any other mobile network. I was very rarely without a 3G signal other than places you'd expect like the middle of nowhere in Wales and Highlands.
It is certainly better than the Orange crap I'm on at the moment which rivals dialup for the lack of speed on 3G.0 -
Orange blocks a lot of things like voip and skype I think vodaphone does as well0

AFAIK 3 and T-Mobile are the leaders in 3G signal in UK as they use mainly combined masts under a 50/50 company MBNL Ltd.
This may come under threat when Vodafone and O2 get to use GSM 900 for 3G soon?0
