I believe Inspirat pack just changed the themes but not sure about that. :o So this is a no no as far as MS goes- can they detect this during windows update or something?

Microsoft has backdoors into the Opearting System after all its there code. I would not risk it, after all Microsoft can send a code to your pc and may the OS jam.

I've just installed Vista Transformation Pack 6 and I have to say that, on first impressions, I'm incredibly impressed.

Streather - what problems did you have with it? and was that with version 6 or an earlier version?

What ridiculous FUD. Hackers have no problems finding unintentional security holes, you really think they'd have problems finding intentional back doors? For Microsoft to do it would be illegal anyway, you really think they'd risk it when they have nothing to gain?
  • if you install the transformation pack before you activate windows it wont let you you then have to ring them. but all in all I've had it before and it worked ok then has been up-graded since I last had it, and hey vista on the cheap.

Whywould it be illegal for Microsoft to have backdoors. Its their OS, not yours. You just have a lience.

It's your computer, and your data. Unauthorised access to your machine or data would be a breach of the Computer Misuse Act in the UK, and similar laws in the US. Plus, Microsoft get enough negative publicity as it is, do you really think they'd want this?

The one thing Microsoft CAN do is widthdraw your access to Genuine Advantage. All this means is that you won't be able to install certain updates, or run some software.
