Cool a room fast?

Hi, we've got a bedroom and it seems to get roasting in there (we have a baby room thermometer that says it is 22-24 c in there sometimes. We have the door open, window open but it is still really warm so are there any ways to cool it down?
I was thinking maybe a bucket or bowl of ice would work? We have a little desk fan but when you're sleeping in there that doesn't seem to be achieving much.
Can buy something if it will work.
Thanks for reading

The days are getting shorter and winter is drawing in, I think the problem will sort itselfHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

Do you have other windows open upstairs and other doors open - this usually gets the airflow going.0

As has been said, it should be a self-resolving problem in the coming weeks as temperatures drop. Nevertheless if you want to resolve it now:
A bucket of cold water/ice on it's own will do very little to the ambient temperature. A drop in temperature will only occure in the immediate few inches surrounding the bucket. Although if you have a fan blowing across the top of the bucket it will magnify the effect.
I'd probably recommend that you look at an oscillating tower air conditioner. You should be able to pick a decent one up at most electrical retailers inc. Argos, Comet, Hughes etc from £50 upwards.0 -

As long as you leave the doors open, this shouldn't matter.
And am I the only one that doesn't think 22' is that hot anyway?0 -
Do you have a blind in there or curtains you can leave shut to keep the sun out?0

Is the floor warm too? Could you have a hot water pipe or two running under foot? If there is, try putting on the hot water early morning only (for an hour say 5- 6 am), so that during the rest of the day it is not reheating, but cooling down.0

Nope, it just seems that the air isn't shifting.0 -
Might not help but I had a similar problem and it was solved by cutting the door. Creating a larger gap at the floor leverl so an air draft was created. Worked great until we knocked down the wall opposite my bedroom door so and backdoor is opposite now room is completely freezing.0
