Massive vent - School have cut my hours in Sept

I've just had my new hours for when the September term starts and my hours have been reduced quite a lot.

at the moment i work 8:30am to 1pm 5 days a week then 2 of those days i do extra SEN hours of 1pm-3.30.

my new hours in sept are -

8.30am -1pm 3 days a week then 2 days a week 11.30-1!

i knew my hour where going to be cut back down and i would lose the SEN hours but i didn't realised my 'set' hours so to speak would go down to just 3 days a week and that they would expect my for 2 of those days to only come in for a 1.5 hrs in the middle of the day!!

I and most of the other TA's are so angry and confused as most of us have had ours hours drastically cut!

for me it'll mean a cut in my pay of about £250-300 which is a lot seeing as its nearly 2/3rds of my wages!

I am just in a state of shock and annoyance as recently we have all been busting our !!!!!! covering several people's long term sick abscences and doing extra hours at short notice to help the school out and it just feels like a major kick in the teeth for all of us when none of us were even warned it would be happening!!

I know i should be grateful i've got a job in the current economic cliamte etc but i'm actually really angry about it all, i mean its ridiculous expecting someone to come in and for 1.5hrs halfway through the day!!

Isn't that what dinner ladies have been expected to do for as long as any of us can remember?

Government cuts innit? It's gonna get a whole lot worse... don't worry though! Dave, Gideon and the other one will be fine, protected as they are by healthy salaries and the ability to claim for eating, breathing and taking a dump on expenses. We're all in it together!

TBF, slowly's not a dinner lady; she(he?)'s a TA. Although I always thought they were similar to dinner ladies - just with more adding up and a bit of spelling *

Its what happens when us as a country spend too much. If you want to blame politicians your looking at the wrong bunch!!

Who asked you, chompy? I'm not 'blaming' anyone. That's not what my post was about. It was about a group of people who take money from the poorest strata of society, trot out their endless 'we're all in it together!' rubbish safe in the knowledge that it's not their family lives that will suffer; it's not their jobs that are under threat; they're not going to struggle to make ends make.

How we got here is not my point. My point is the disingenuous smarm that's spewing from the mouths of our current leaders.

So you honestly think that if the country was being run by people on the dole, and on minimum wage, we would be in a better position?
