Right have found the copy of my contract dated 01/09/10
on the top it says
Standard Permanent contract for surrey pay employees grade SP1-SP13 employed in a community school
so i am assuming i have a permanent contract rather than a fixed term?TUFKA - Lyndsay_210 -
What does it say your hours are, and your weeks per year?
If you are not the only one affected, which from your OP suggests is the case, then it sounds like your employer has decided to implement a complete staff restructure without any consultation!0 -
I have 2 contracts, one for the hours 8:3 - 11:30 which i am a nursery assistant and one for the hours 11:30 - 1 where i am a nursery lunch assistant both permanent contracts
as follows
Appointment status
this will be an appointment covering a specific number of weeks of employment througout the year, as outlined in paragraph 4 below.
then a but about probation period of 26 week...
Hours of work
you normal weekly hours will be 13.75 / 7.5 (one for each contract) to be served over a total of 38 weeks a year. The pattern of hours which you will be required to work each week will be advised to you separately.
term time staff may have their patter of hours varied to ensure they serve a total number of annual hours based on the number of weeks they are required to work per year and their weekly hours

Basically there is a massive staff shake up as we've got a few people off long term sickness who wont be able to return in sept so another teacher is coming in there place and there employing someone else in there place if that makes sense!TUFKA - Lyndsay_210

There is no national standard way that tas are paid.TTO still get paid holiday. If you work 39 weeks, you would get paid for 44 (or thereabouts) out of the 52. This is a whole other thread that repeatedly crops up on here.20hrs
Some are employed on 52 week contracts but only required to work 39 or sometimes 38 excluding training days. They are not required to work in school holidays (but can be which always causes a fuss) They take their holiday entitlement in the 13 weeks and cannot take it at other times.
Some get paid extra for every hour they work- so the hourly rate
includes a payment for holiday pay (as supply teachers do)
Some get paid an additional amount for holiday pay. They are paid for weeks when they do not work.
Some have salaries paid over 12 months, others term time only. There is no standard system across the country
If you are being reduced below the hours of your contact you need to
have notice served of the changes. Is this what they have done? You have done less than 12 months.June challenge £100 a day £3161.63 plus £350 vouchers plus £108.37 food/shopping saving

When we do overtime we do get paid our hourly rate.
I have been working there since last may but that was a temporary contract and when the new school year came in i started to the 'permanent contract' as prev mentioned.
RE staff shake up, less of a shake up more of a move around ie yr 1 teacher going to be in nursery class and a yr 2 TA coming into nursery for SEN for a particular child, and recently this week our Full time nursery nurse moving over to the pre school to be a supervisor and them appointing a new nursery nurseTUFKA - Lyndsay_210 -

Moving positions with a school is definitely normal. The school I work in have moved a lot of their TA's around, same where my Mom works. Was the same when I was at school many years ago as well so nothing uncommon there.
