Hi all, I need some help. Just bought a Nokia 1800 (cheap phone) for £0.99 per month with cashback. I have copied the Raccon details below:

Racoon £25 (24mths)

25 per month, 24 months
Here's what you get in your tariff each month

Free Minutes 400 + Unlimited Landline

Free SMS (Text messages)* 300

Free Data*
-
Unlimited Landline Calls: Includes unlimited calls to UK landlines

Magic Numbers: Get unlimited calls to an Orange mobile or Orange landline number of your choice. Visit Orange.co.uk for more info.

Orange Wednesdays: Get 2 4 1 cinema tickets every Wednesday. Visit Orange.co.uk for more info.

Itemised Billing: Sign up for e-billing to receive free online bills. Visit Orange.co.uk for more info.
==============================
So my question is about the unlimited Landline calls just to make sure I understand ok. I have 400 mins to any mobile and I can call any UK landline (except any premium or 0845 numbers etc) for free as well and these normal landline calls do not come off my 400 mins allowance. Am I understanding this correctly? Thanks for the help and sorry for being so think........LOL

  • That is correct, the 400 Minutes can be used to call other Orange Numbers or Other Networks.

Don't forget to set up any Magic Numbers if anyone else you call often is on Orange so it only takes 1 minute from the allowance.

Thanks for that, but just to check the unlimited landlines are not taken from my 400min any-network allowance? I know....I'm a bit slow:-)

Nope, any calls starting with 01/02/03 will not be taken from your 400 minute allowance...

great .....and thanks for the magic number reminder as I probably would not have bothered about that, but I will now, as my main mobile calls are to another orange user.

Just thinking if I wanted to buy a better phone off ebay or avforums etc and use this sim am I correct in thinking as long as its unlocked or on Orange does it matter if its advertised as a paygo or mobile without contract?

That is indeed correct, if you are planning to use the Internet on the mobile please just ensure you have a bundle as the Racoon plan does not include any inclusive Internet access.
