  • My sister's a vet and she'd definitely appreciate a nice thank you card and box of chocs or bottle of wine (especially a bottle of wine in her case!!). It's a tough job, and little touches like this go a long way - it's a very nice gesture :)

After Nev's accident, when we went to pick up his ashes, I dropped in a box of M&S chocs and a thank you card with a kitten on it, just as a token to all the staff. The receptionist was (seemed?) really pleased - apparently not many people do that after they've had a pet PTS. In our view it wasn't the vet's fault (it was the *bleep* who drove over him), and all the staff had been lovely to him (and us!), so of course we'd do something to show our appreciation. It was just a token.
We may not have it all together, but together we have it all

We (sister and I) take our vet and nurses christmas presents as well as thank you gifts, every year, (and on loss of a pet etc) Always food and drink!

As a 'thanks' to all the staff at the vet we use we got them a card, bag of toffees and a frames photo of the guinea pig. He was so special and the staff all loved him. The picture is in the staff room now apparently :)
