Tesco My Mobile

I have been having a bit of a problem with Tesco Mobile. Not a big problem ...more an interesting one so I thought I would mention it on here.
I bought a SIM card in Tesco a long time ago, I think it cost £1.47. I did not have much use for it so it resided in an old handset. I must have used it a couple of times since the original £10 credit went down to £7 ..................something
Tesco have changed their Tariff’s recently but the main point here is that they changed them with a cut off date. If you activated your phone before 28th February then you got the got the old rules and after that date you got the new rules.
Significantly, If you activated your phone before the cut off date then you could have five favourite numbers at half price.
I activated my phone . In December 2010 according to Tesco’s tariff history. I am pretty certain that I activated it long before then but it makes no difference to the story.
The wording on their web site says
“Activated with Tesco Mobile before the 28th February 2011”
(This is a copy and paste from their web site.)
The reader will note that I activated the phone before the cut off date
However. I am not allowed the five favourite numbers for the following reasons.
“Unfortunately favourite numbers were taken off our service and are only available to customers who registered on our network before the 28th February”

Obviously there is a misunderstanding here since you say "customers who registered on our network before the 28th" and your web site says:
“Activated with Tesco Mobile before the 28th February 2011 click here”
And I "activated" last December according to my tariff history.
Their reply was
“I am sorry to hear that there is some confusion over the tariff on your mobile.
However, I can see on your account that you were previously on the LITE tariff and then you transferred to the free credit tariff on the 5th July 2011. As this date is after the 28th February 2011, you are not eligible for the favourite numbers.
If I can be of further assistance, please feel free to contact me. “

To sum up: I don’t think I am going to get five favourite numbers even though I activated my phone before the cut off date because I did not “register on my network”, changed my tariff in July or some other reason that they will make up in reply to my latest email.

It's not my fault your honour, they made me do it.

If you were on the lite tariff it does not include 5 favourite numbers.0

That's why I changed it. The web site implies that if you activated your phone before .....whenever then you could have the five numbers. Now there seems to be any number of reasons why you can't. They even say the web site does not say "activate" even though I copied and pasted it into the email I sent them. It's not my fault your honour, they made me do it.0
