    Afternoon everyone.

Lovely weather up here in Scotland...the sun makes me sooo cheerful.

Have made a batch of Morrocan Houmous this morning and just enjoyed some on a pitta bread for lunch:D. My SC is on with the onions cooking for the French onion soup for dinner. I must get some packing and posting done for ebay this afternoon and also maybe get the grass cut:o.

looking forward to catching up with friends tonight, off for a long walk then a trip to the pub..we usually go out for a meal but we're being all OS and trying to save our £'s and only have the drink part of our nights out:cool:.

I got up this morning and DD was sitting on the bench in the garden having returned early from her night out and promptly went straight to bed. But she is now showered and ready for lunch out with pals...

    Afternoon all

Glad to say Mum's house is looking so much better, have never seen dust like it in the bedrooms though, I hadn't realised it had got that bad.

Glad to say all my washing dried on the line. Just need to air it. Had an interesting discussion with DS about what I might end up doing in my 60's possibly living in a commune or a Bhuddhist retreat or maybe a cottage in the middle of nowhere without a TV! He wasn't that impressed. Sometimes I just hanker for a simple life!

Off to make rice pud, have a good evening all

Struggling to keep up with my new role as wedding planner, never mind Bridezilla, my sister is so laid back, there would be no wedding if it wasn't for me bossing her around :rotfl: Still I am enjoying fussing around after them - and I am in my element organising stuff! The plans look lovely, and they are delighted - don't worry, I am not taking over, they are OKing everything before I spend their money ;) It will be a lovely, low key OS family wedding.

Hope everyone is OK, the weather has been lovely here. I shall do a LameWolf and leave a pile of hugs and good vibes here, and wish you all well, I'll be back soon.

    Evening everyone

Spent £40 in the freezer shop but that includes enough meat for the whole month so not too bad.

Popped over to the garden centre this afternoon (only went for some wick) fell in love with lots of stuff they have there .....DH bought me a new cookie cutter in the shape of a tea pot (another fetish of mine along with cookery books and craft books :o) and we got a few Christmas pressies for MIL so we are well on the way to having most of our pressies sorted by the end of August:j
The boys are having burgers tonight and I have some tuna and salad.

    Hi Guys,
Back from my hospital appointment in london. I ended up being kept in for the afternoon for some pain relief treatment (on the spot) and having to catch the commuter train back. I was astonished at the antics of these commuters and both Kids Dad and I both realised how lucky we are not to have to commute by train. The platform was announced for our train and it was like a herd of stampeding elephants to be the first to get on the train. Luckily I had been helped onto the train before everyone else as I have a disabled rail pass but it was fun people watching.

So no OS for us today. I was furious that we did not take sandwiches with us as we forked out a pretty penny for a very substandard hospital lunch. It really hurt me and I realise that I hold OS principles and you people close to my heart. Many thanks for all your kind words over the past couple of days - its very much appreciated xx
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Just lost a long post, had a lovely day to-day with an ex colleague and her children, we ate outside and sorted all the gossip

JackieG....the mind boggles at the idea of you bullying anybody....enjoy the organising

JackieO....as others have said, your family is so lucky to have you and the best about that is that they know it.

Molly...glad that the day is over....understand what you mean about rubbish food for high prices, have eventually convinced OH that when we fly we bring food with us to have at airport....have yet to find appetising food in Dublin airport.

Ate my first ripe tomato to-day, seems as if we will have a reasonable crop this year, had 1 mange tout as well but there are more coming and beans are looking good. Peppers are tiny so far but they will grow. Am quite jealous of all you people harvesting plums, we have nothing like that so having to make do with the soft fruits, must put more rhubarb in freezer, it is even nicer in winter than it is now.

Hope that all feeling under the weather recover soon, stay safe all

Your all very kind but I'm sure I am only doing what thousands of Mums do really which is care for the family I feel priviliged to be able to spend so much time with my grandsons and feel that I get the best of the deal.DD and son-in-law had to go to Jacks senior school tonight to meet the heads of the new year 7 that he will be joining in September so I stayed with the boys and they 'helped' me make dinner. One peeled the spuds, and one chopped carrots (watched nevously by me of course) and the smallest one set the table .So they all muck in and help. The two dogs just get under ones feet as they know that food is around and the oldest dog is a real scrounger ( he has eyes that would melt the hardest heart)it's a bit of a madhouse at times but great fun

DD and I had a lovely day at Maidstone and I bought two tops and two long skirts and some new sandles, plus a pair of linen cropped trousers that my DD said looked really nice I'm not too sure as I can't help thinking they look like I've outgrown them :):) (showing my age now )But to keep her happy I bought them and because she has done so well on her diet since January I treated her to a nice sundress that looked great on her.So a good day was had all round.I'm just off to bed now for a quick read of my Freddie Forsythe book The Afghan not a bad thriller and i've almost finished it.tomorrow the school run again and then in the afternoon then a mass visit to the dentist with my four grandsons for check ups Gets it over with before the holidays start.
Take care all Good night God bless all here
    JackieO xx
