    Travelex Cash Passport Globe

You can topup online free of charge whilst you are out there .

Finally is there any benefit over the Travelex South African Cash Passport card to this one?

You are becoming a little annoying. :) If you don't want to take my word for it, do some calculations for yourself.

    Sorry :o

It is just stressing me out a bit to be honest. We are going out to do charity work on sponsored money and dont really want to be wasting it on exchange fees etc. The reason why i was waivering is that lloyds tsb will charge me £20 to put £1000 onto the card but i need to check if this will still count as i am technically not buying foreign currency just putting it onto a prepaid card.

That is correct, so if they try to charge you anything, call them immediately for a refund.

£20? The max would be £4.50 if it was 'foreign currency and Travellers cheques'.

Don't forget that you can order Sterling TCs commission free from LloydsTSB. Either order online or over the telephone to pick up in branch. Of course it's worth checking on the rates available for cashing TCs out there. I don't think that you'll get a better rate than TCPG, it's just a backup suggestion. If not needed, you can pay them back in to your account at no loss.

If you decide to take your existing cards then paying where possible using your credit card will work out cheaper than using your debit card from hell. 2.99% fee - fairly high but no per transaction charge.

You do get the benefit of double airmiles with the duo card when abroad, but you would still be better off with a good pre paid card or getting a best buy card if you are going abroad again soon.
