Cancelling Vodafone Contract

My daughter does not want to renew her two year contract with Vodafone and has been told by them over the phone that she must email in. They told her to do it straight from their website today to give them the 30 days notice. Is this right? Thanks

AFAIK all networks need 30 days notice unless you transfer your number to the new network with a PAC code. Her contract will be terminated as soon as the transfer takes effect.

They do ask for email to be sent. Best to do that about 5 days before start of the 30 days notice starts.

Arrgh, when she rang a couple of months ago she was told she could only email them today as that is 30 days before the end of her contract.

Yep. That's what they are saying nowadays. Otherwise the contract will end early - 30 days after notice is received. Another ploy to prevent people leaving on time and without penalty. I have now managed to circumvent that - but it took a lot of effort and several attempts to so do. Previously you were perfectly able to send a letter up to two months ahead; like many things Vodafone do now everything is designed to put obstacles in your path.
