Help needed please! Need to hire car in amsterdam, no credit card!!!

Hi please can some one help me. I am going on my first ever holiday next month, I have booked my flights and hotel however I need to hire a car but I don't have a CREDIT CARD! which is proving to be a nightmare. I only have a debit card and I have tried the major companies but they won't accept a debit card as a security deposit. I have even explained to them I am willing to put a cash deposit down but they won't accept that either.
Please can anyone help me? I want to be able to collect the car at Amsterdam airport.
I have read other post regarding people having this problem but they were all in Spain.
