Hi - has nayone had any issues with tesco online in the last few days? Basically, I used their online grocery service for the first time to place an order last friday. I wen to check out and filled in the payment details, hen clicked to go to the next page to confirm payment. The system simply logged me out and sent me to the home page. I decided I couldn't bebothered going through the whole process agin so left it, bearing in mind I had never confirmed my payment. I then went to Tescos on sunday and did my shopping. Last night Tesco turned up with the online delivery!! I called the customer services today to query what had happened as I never actuallly confirmed payment adn they say they had system problems last week, where verified by visa was not working and simply sending customers back to the home page. They are very sorry buit nothing they can do about, I should have called them to check my order status.... I then asked how they could complete an order withour me actually confirming by payment or completeing a verified by visa and also asked why in that case I never redeived so much as an email in confirmation of my order. Again they just say sorry but basically tough. So now I have two lots of weekly shopping and double the cost - surely they can't operate like this and it is their issue if their systems are down and not the customers? I always use Tesco, but am so unhappy that I think I may go back to Asda!!

Somebody more experienced would know, but is this not classified as unsolicited goods since the order was never confirmed?I get what i want. That isn't because i'm a brat or spoilt. It's because i'm determined, i work hard for it and i achieve my goals!0

why did you not refuse the delivery?0

Could you not have just refused the second delivery when the driver turned up with it, he (or she) would have just returned it all to the store and you would have got a full refund (ok apart from your delivery costs that you might have had to call them about)0

I would personally put this all in writing and send it to Tesco head office. To make you suffer financially because of a glitch on their system that they are now fully aware of is wrong. Explain in factual terms pointing out the steps you took and what you were told by customer service's.
And while doing that. Ask the bank out of curiosity what the point of the secure thing is, if an order was processed without you completing it?
I always thought that if it popped up there was no way round ordering unless your password was submitted successfully. Might have some room for leg room there.
Not fact, just opinion.I get what i want. That isn't because i'm a brat or spoilt. It's because i'm determined, i work hard for it and i achieve my goals!0 -
Thanks, I will write to their head office and see what they asy and contact the bank as I more suprised they allowed the payment! I did say to the driver that the order was never placed, but he just kept unloading the shopping and said call them - probably me being a bit naive, but never used them before so I didn't really know what to do. Thamks for all of your comments though0
