Problem with Sony Ericsson w300i
 Hi
Bought hubby w300i for Christmas from orange pay as you go at end of Nov. He made one call to make sure it worked, then I took it to wrap up.
Discovered fault with it when opened at Christmas - select button sticking so it clicks up to 5 times when pressed once so phone sends message before even written!
Orange refusing to exchange as over 28 days even though Christmas pressie and have told us to contact manufacturer to get it repaired, even though only used once.
Not very happy with repair of faulty phone and also think orange should deal with it as bought from them. Any advice?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong,
Your warranty lies with the manufacturer if the date of your purchase has fallen outside of the initial faulty exchange/refund period with the retailer.
As the handset was purchased at the end of November and not in December, any Xmas returns policy would not apply (xmas returns policies usually start Decemeber 1st).
Your handset is still under warranty so you could just take it to any Sony Ericsson service centre along with a copy of your original receipt to have the handset repaired (free of charge). Carphone Warehouse are authorised SE service centres, some of the stores have on site repairs which can sort out the problem within 1-3 days.0 -
Thanks vietpup. Did not know this until today as not told about warranty when purchased, or that you only have only 28 days to exchange. Have been told have to send phone off to be repaired and will take 10 days, although do have carphone warehouse nearby.0

on the handset, you have a 2 yr guarantee and on accessories such as the battery, headset etc, 1 yr0
