morning all! day off:jjannyannie wrote: »NPM one of my friends has a son with special needs, I don't know why they make it so awful when it comes to review time.
they do this to secure funding really, if it all sounded too positive then they may lose their funding or statement. It is the same with the adults with special needs I support - they are always looking for a way to cut their money so we spend hours documenting negative and challenging behaviours to justify the level of support given.:(
Hester - hope your DS is on the mend x
Molly - (((hugs))) to you and your poor DS, hope he's ok x x x x
Plans for today are
make cheese and potato pies
usual laundry/housework
Haircut
Take DSs GF home and him to work
DS and his friends had a good night out, home at 2.30am slightly merry. we did have a frantic phone call at 11.30 from DS to say he'd lost his GF somewhere but he did evenually find her again soon afterwards. They are both sleeping it off now.
DS1 had a bit of a day yesterday with his car - 2 flat tyres, a breakdown and the expense of a new tyre he can barely afford but it was all sorted in the end, poor lad deserves some good luck.
Just havin a coffee, have a great day all xDo what you love :happyhear0 -
morning:D
Just dropped DS off at school. He was very upset last night as he lost a koosh ball at school:o it is one of those stretchy rubber ball things with spikes on it, all bright colours. He calls it his "wibble" .When he got in today one of the girls in his class had spent last night making a big wool pompom ball in the same colours for him:p:D He was thrilled to bits and gave her a big hug which was lovely to see:)
Moment of hilarity this morning when he went out to see ginger tom the visiting cat.....he came running back in horrified " mummy, Tom is having a wash and there is a pink thing coming out of his tummy and he is trying to eat it!":rotfl:....can tell he is used to a girl cat lol.
Easy tea of fish fingers and chips later.
Have some paperwork to do this morning and some ironing.
I also need to get on with some chilli jam as teachers presents.
Still trying to convince DS about the 5 day hol to Scarborough his dad is taking him on in the summer:eek:.....they are staying in teepees and he isnt happy about having to use the toilets there etc. He keeps saying he is going to hide when his dad comes and he isnt going:o He has already refused the hol to Spain they went on in june so this was his dad taking him on a holiday. I do wish he would think more and book a cottage or something as DS would find this much less stressful.
Molly I hope DS is ok.....hopefully he will just be tired because of lack of sleep when he was away:o0 -
Going to my last ballet lesson before the summer break tonight and we are all going out for a drink afterwards, looking forward to that.
You do ballet? <insert envy icon> I would love to do ballet again but considering my tap class goes on for nearly 2 hours I don't think it's fair to be out too many nights in the week
Morning my lovelies
White cloud here, much cooler than it was last night, too muggy and warm for good sleep.
Pottering today, going to make an orange cake and some biccies for the kids. Today on cleaning schedule (I know how sad) is kitchen and dining room so ought to get my butt in gear and get started.
Tea tonight is spag bol.
topsy - good luck with your interview, positive vibes it goes well xxx
Molly - head over to the Memorygirl Matrix thread.......PMA just oozes from thereRather than just keep kicking back against the fence about how you wish your life was different (due to health etc) you need to focus on the positives, what do you have that's good? Your life IS now different and keep wishing it was otherwise won't get you anywhere. Sorry if that sounds harsh, it's not meant to be
PMA does take practice but it's well worth it. And the fact that you are taking steps to find a more reliable source of help is a start. I mean you could just keep complaining which would change nothing but in fact you're taking steps to sort the situation to your advantage - that's positive thinking
Hope you can take these comments in the spirit that they're intended
Hope your DS is OK xx
Bargainbird - where are youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu?
NPM - Awww that's lovely of Noah to give her a hugPerhaps a pom pom could replace wibble? Be far easier to replicate should it get lost again.
Hugs and spoons all round. Have a great day OS or not.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Hi Bitsy
I have been doing ballet for more than 6 years and it has really helped my posture and my fitness. I never did it as a child and when DD1 and DD2s dance teacher suggested an adult class I leaped at the chance. I really recommend it.:D
Molly, Bramble and Julie Hugs and PMA to all of you.0 -
Morning All.
((HUGS)) to Mollie - and anyone else needing one today.
Heading back upstairs to the hell-hole of a spare room shortly. Need to get cracking on the ironing again as it's threatening to get out of the cupboard on its own once more. Hopefully if I make enough progress on the tidying front I shall get my machine out later and run up a top.
Need to do a small shop today but will be checking the freezer/fridge/larder first to make sure I need the stuff I'm buying.
Before the cousins arrive next week I need to clean the silver which hides, tarnished on top of the cupboards in the dining room. What would you all recommend???? I thought I had some silver polish under the sink, but can't find any!
Hope you all have a great day today. take care.Resolution:

Not a bad day here, warmish & some cloud but ok-my washing is out,and just waiting for another load to finish. Its Sports day in the field at the back of the house, with the parents chairs right at the back of the fence,so sheets on the line screens me a bit:o.
I enjoyed the play and seeing my old workmates at school yesterday-just thought it was a bit long at 1hr 20 mins and my bum was going numb:rotfl:,felt sorry for the littlies sat on the hall floor.A few of us have arranged to meet up in the school hols so that'll be nice.
Booked a break in France in a couple of weeks so I'm really looking forward to that- we'll be staying in Bergerac and the hotel has a pool.I'll have to dig out a cossie, not been anywhere that needed one for about 4 years.I'm so glad I've lost about a stone recently, could do with another half to be happy with my weight, but I look better than I did & my waist goes in a bit now :rotfl:
Hugs & PMA to Molly, hope DS is ok,I know our 2 sleep a lot when they've come back from a festival, don't think much sleep goes on
Not sure whats for tea yet,but DS is taking me to Ikea shortly so will get something from the freezer again, still loads in.

Thank you guys x
Bitsy -I do follow the thread and would contribute but Im not sure I fully understand the concepts such as the other side?
Anyway PMA vibes working as have just got back from dentist with DD and that was not as bad a we feared. I have also got DD to mop the floors and DS2 has surfaced now so feel very much happier:T:T:TI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Thank you Hester for the Toilets of the World book you sent for DS:A.
It arrived this morning just in time for his birthday on Sunday...he will love it, thank you very much xx0 -

Molly, Bramble and Julie Hugs and PMA to all of you.
I think I might look up a few videos of some exercises and perhaps do some at home. I did it for nearly 10 years as a child so aside from 1st to 5th position I can remember some stuff
Molly - The "other side" is basically a private forum where we discuss all the stuff we're not allowed to on the other thread eg starting up new business ventures etc. If you need anything else explaining just shout. Glad to see the new PMA is working already :TI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks
