Yes, tried it with McAfee by accident. Had to do a complete reinstall after 9 months of being registered. Installed again and simply registered a different name and email address.

Anyone have any experience of uninstalling and reinstalling Norton itself? I have been quite happy to have this running in the background with hardly any input from me!

I tend to get things wrong with the computer if I start messing around and if I uninstalled Norton, how could I be sure that the freebie has everthing that Norton had, eg a firewall and automatic updates?

Hi Loobeylou

Norton comes in various flavours - your first post was just for NAV but it would seem there is a firewall involved, so you may have Norton Security Center or Internet Security or etc., not just Norton AV

Have a read of the stickies at the top about free AV, about free mal/spyware removal and prevention tools and What security do you use for firewalls etc ...
