Skype/internet allowance

I have 500mb allowance to use internet on my contract, my question, is i want to use skype to skype to speak to someone abroad, how much allowance would this use please, the call would be around 5-10 minutes

I'm not sure exactly, but 500mb is lots of skyping. Just make a few calls and check your balance.

When I first started using internet and what not I was careful - after a while I realised I couldn't talk enough to use it up.

I checked out some other forums just as a matter of interest. Most people agree that it uses something between 15mb-20mb per hour combined. Although one or two others have estimated it's more like 50mb.

Be aware that some providers specifically exclude Skype usage.
