Any help with doggy breath?

Every time my nearly 10 yr old staffy b itch opens her mouth, it smells like a sewage.
We feed her turkey and rice Kibble ( recommended by my old vet, as her pancreas was swollen during an op they spotted it) Since given her this, her back end smells fresher (than her mouth) TMI, and her fur is much softer. And once a week/fortnight we give her fresh chicken and rice.
We also give her a dental stick daily, which obviously these are a waste of money as they do not help.
I have even tried to clean her teeth with baby toothpaste, but she won't let me any more. ( I used to when she was a toddler, vet agreed).
Help ?

There are a couple of products on the market that can help prevent tarter build up, and help to break down the tarter in mild cases;
Logic oral hygiene gel - just smear on the teeth with a finger
Plaque-Off - add a scoop of powder on top of pooches food
However, if pooch smells that foul, and given her age, it is likely she may need a dental. If her yearly check up is within the next few weeks then I would put a peg on my nose (:p) and wait, but if not I would see your vet or vet nurse and see what they think.I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

Your first port of call is a vet check up if her mouth smells that bad, there may be an infection that needs treating or tooth that needs to be pulled.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

It could even be something much more serious. Our rescued dog had horrible breath and it was cancer I'm afraid, which even the vet did not pick up until he suddenly collapsed when a tumour burst. He had not lost weight, was not eating or drinking more than usual, and seemed healthy even though he was riddled with it. He was the most fantastic dog I have ever known and I have know hundreds, or thousands......he is irreplaceable.0

OH NO!
That brought a tear to my eye, We not long lost Sam to a tumour, no symptoms except a fit then 2 weeks later a huge fit.
Molly has been quiet lately, not her usual playful self, and to be honest not bothered when I come home from work, and sit down for my dinner. Thought it was down to no Sam and a new puppy.
Oh god, I am taking her Vet Wednesday.
Fingers crossed she is OK, could not bare losing her.. She is my baby girl....

Try not to panic, if her mouth hurts she may well be subdued and not interested in begging for food. :grouphug:Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -

Erm, at the risk of sounding rude - no they don't!
If your pooch still has smelly breath after using them, then get down the vets asap!
They are pretty useless TBH, but they certainley do not make the problem worse!I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

Thats your experience
My experience is that any of those man made chemical laden coloured chew things designed to part someone from their money do indeed make for smelly dogs breath
I know of many others who have the same experience as me - stinky dogs after feeding rubbish0
