sick note, please help with dates

hi
if my current sick note (fit for work) was dated 15th may, for 2 months.
Which date should my new note be starting from?

a full 8 weeks later, or simply 15th July onwards?

I think the jobcentre once told me that there could be a 10 day gap which is ok between sick notes. Is this true? once they told me 15 days gap is ok, but then another person said 10 days.

thankyou

2 months is 2 months and 8 weeks is 8 weeks, what does it say on the note? if it says 2 months then it last till the coresponding date 2 months later, so 15th may-15th july.

    date of statement 15th may
    assessed case on 17th may
the note says "2 months" duration.

So i guess the new note should be dated 15th July + 10 day gap as maximum cut off point.

    thankyou

no idea where this ten day gap comes from, your entire illness should be covered by fit notes so best sort out an appointment for this week to renew.

as above, if you are still ill then go and get another sick note as soon as this one runs out, why wait 10 days? not as if youve got much else to do.

yeah, im just saying, the dates dont have to be strictly accurate, theres a 10 day gap rule thing where they still accept it, and round off mid week dates to start of next week or something like that.

    thanks to all.

Just make sure the notes actually cover continuous dates... and yeah.. don't mess around... get them in ASAP when the previous one runs out. DWP admin is chaotic at best..lol

I always got a new note before the last one finished, I would never put myself in the position of not being covered for even one day and I think most people are the same.

dont bank on hearsay, if its not written down they can deny ever saying it, you are best covering yourself and getting the new note as soon as possible.
