Nokia N8 or Samsung Galaxy Ace ?
Am about to come up to the end of my contract with Virgin after having a Blackberry 8520
Would like to try a new phone and have narrowed it to the above choices.
Have a lot of albums , photos and video ( converted from H.264 for my blackberry) .Only use a small amount of internet ( Twitter and Facebook) most days but would like to have a decent camera/video camera.
Have read reviews about OS for both phones but am not too clued up over which would be better for me
Have read that flash is not supported on the Ace but as long as I could transfer the memory card into it and play my videos would be very happy.
would anybody have any recomendations or pro/cons for either ?
thanks :money::money:

N8 has better camera but runs a still buggy version of symbian OS, also battery is none removable so when its nakerd it wont be easy to fix.
samsung ace i've not really heard much about so cant comment0 -
For your use, the nokia would be better suited. software is not as slick as Android, but the nokia n8 is far superior to the galaxy ace, for media.0

The battery is easy to replace on the N8. http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/features/item/13066_Its_better_than_you_think-5_un.phpI shot a vein in my neck and coughed up a Quaalude.

Thanks , only had the Blackberry for emails but novelty has wore off now ( after 20+ a day from football forums , groupon etc)For your use, the nokia would be better suited. software is not as slick as Android, but the nokia n8 is far superior to the galaxy ace, for media.
Like to be able to have my whole music collection on the memory card and also to watch all my camcorder footage as well. The HD video camera does sound pretty good as well.Just wodering what/how many apps. there is for the N8 ?The truth shall set you free.....................0 -
i have just gotten the N8 and so far i like it, i havent got too many apps but then again i never thought i would i mainly got it for the camera which is excellent for a phone.
another thing i love about it is the FM transmitter so i am able to play my music on my phone but pick it up on my cars radio (dont have mp3 connector on my car just cd and radio) so that is a big plus for my usage.
one thing to bare in mind though the memory card cover is quite tough to open (could just be the 'newness' of the phone) so might not be as convinient to just pop it in and out to put on more videos etc, however it does have 16gb of onboard storage and the USB transfer works with drag and drop so that is pretty handy
edit, if there is any specific apps you want me to look for i will try and have a look for them for you on the ovi storeDrop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)0 -
Just got the Galaxy Ace a few days ago as an upgrade. So far it is doing great and the touchscreen is excellent. Easy to access the apps and I bought an 8 gig micro sd card to go with it as the amount of onboard memory isn't great. As I have been using the net heavily while I am getting used to the phone the thing does seem to be using quite a bit of power, so it needs charging regularly. As time passes and I am not fiddling with it all the time the power consumption should improve. Time will eventually tell how good it is, but so far so good.0
