Is it locked or UNLOCKED??

I bought Nokia1600 from CPW today.

The price was 19.99+10.00[minimum topup required]
Also traded in my old phone and so the final price was 19.99 including 10pound credit.

As the phone was out of stock [black colour] they gave me the SIM alone and asked to collect the phone on Thursday....

Does this mean the phone is unlocked [My query is can they lock the handset on its own?]

Sorry I am not a hitech person with these....

I've just tried a Vodafone sim card in DD2s new T Mobile Nokia 6111. It worked!

That was bought from Dialaphone just before Christmas.

DD1 is yet to let me near her Samsung D600 to try it.

Well DD1s Samsung is LOCKED!

Mind you that was from CPWs mail order - not the high street.

If I had my time again I'd go straight to the high street CPW shop. It was the same price there as it was over the internet.
