Watching Sky+ recordings after cancelling Sky subs

Hello people, wondered if you could help me with this please.
I have canceled my Sky subscription and am going to take the plunge with a freesat box, probably a Humax after searching through this forum.
My only problem is, I have a good few things on my Sky+ and I know that the Sky+ is canceled with the subs cancellation.
Does anyone know if I can watch what is already recorded, or am I going to lose them all?
Thank you in advance.

You'll loose them as they are encrypted, not to mention that unless you pay £10 a month to keep the record/play active, you can't watch even the programmes recorded from the free channels (BBC ect)0

A friend gave me his HD box and the recordings he had on channels I didn't have wouldn't play.
I have, however, a Sony Hard Disk Recorder that I can feed the Sky box into. I took advantage of their 2 months free movies before xmas and recorded about 50 movies. I then transferred them to the HDR and made DVDs out of them or watched them when I was ready!0
