New phone contract, which phone? how much?

I'm currently on o2 simplicity 1 month rolling contract, but have now decided i would like to go for a longer contract with a modern phone included so i can use the internet on it..

Now, where to start, i thought you lovely experts out there could help me please as i have no clue where to start as to which phone to choose, i do know i'm not keen on blackberry though,
so it doesn't have to be the latest phone out there, but one that i can text easily on and use the internet,

At the moment my contract is £15 a month with unlimited texts, unlimited o2 to o2 calls and free calls to other numbers in the evenings and at weekends,

I would like something similar, but obviously with internet included, and i'm hoping not to have to pay more than £20 a month, is this possible? and which phone would you recommend? and do i go through o2.co.uk or another phone shop?

Many thanks in advance..

    I've been Money Tipped!
I am in same position as yourself, been with O2 simplicity for a number of years, but now phone is showing its age, I want to upgrade to phone with internet. I was looking at Tesco with free Samsung Wave 2, with 750mins, 5000 texts, 1gb data for £20 month, but reports on phone were not very good. Looks like I will stay with O2, but cannot decide whether to go for Samsung Galaxy Ace / Sony Xperia 8 at £16.50 or go for Iphone 3 for £21.50 month (phones free). The O2 minutes are much less. I can also get a credit through my work when I buy from O2.

I've also been on Simplicity for a while but am going to buy a Sony Neo soon. Looking at the networks, T-mobile have some great deals for phones & at the moment they have some with unlimited internet, which is a fantastic deal. I'm hoping to move onto T-mobile when they have the phone I want but suggest you have a look at them to see if there's something good there for you.

    Good luck!
