Technical advice on sending text for Samsung Tocco Lite

Hi everyone - could do with a bit of 'idiots guide' help to my daughters phone. She saved her pocket money bless her and bought a Samsung Tocco Lite from her friend. I have at last put her some credit on it and she can make calls, can receive texts but can't send texts. It just says 'unable to send - try again?'. She's on PAYG, with orange network. Could anyone help - I'm hopeless with this sort of thing! Many thanks folks. x

It may be that the text message centre number is incorrect (still set up for previous owner). Have a look on the Orange support site. It should be +447973100973 .

Thank you so much Techhead you're a star - you have just saved me a fair few pennies now I don't have to take it to a repair shop! Now...............any ideas now on how to get the other twins phone working? He threw his on the floor in temper! Its a Soni Erricson K310i. Comes on but nothing else happens! You would be a shiny star if you do know - but I do thank you sincerely.

That's more tricky. It may be something simple like one of the internal contacts for the SIM card being bent or the SIM has been dislodged. Try taking the SIM out and checking everything looks ok.

If not, then it may be something inside the phone that has broken or dislodged. It will have to go off to be repaired, unfortunately.
