The X60 is a bit old now, not sure if you can still buy them new, either way they weigh in at 1.6-1.8kg so they fail miserably on the lightweight aspect. All the same, pretty good laptops.
The last 20 Thinkpad X60s and X61s's I sold went for under £200 a pop - the Thinkpad X61s's were 37 months old and in mint condition.
I'd look at a Thinkpad x200s or a Dell Latitude D430. Both Core 2 Duo ultra portables.0 -
Hi
you didn't say what you want to use the laptop for. if it is for everyday have a look at samsung netbooks 1.2 kg around 10 hours battery life 160 or 250G HD duel processor with all bells and whistes for under £150. i didn't use to think they are any good but i bought one 3 weeks ago for my daughter and i found it fast and very usefull as long as i don't want play game on it ( difficult on 10 ot 12" screen anyway) or do a very larger spread sheet.0 -
Trail a wire, and take the battery out of the laptop. It's the heaviest component. Save your work often in case the dog pulls the plug out.0

Not all laptops work without the battery inserted.0 -

Pretty easy to check your laptop's no-battery operation though, isn't it.
Anybody out there got a laptop that won't run without a battery?0
