Replacing bath handles

Hello,
I'd like to give my bathroom an overhaul with out spending a fortune. I'm planning on keeping the bath, toilet and basin as they are all in excellent condition but they have gold fittings which I want to change. Finding replacement taps for the bath and basin is not a problem but I'm unable to find replacement bath handles - I searched all over the internet for bat handles and can only find the handles you attach to baths for the elderly or disabled. Does any one know where I can get replacement handles - the bath is made by Twyford and the screws in the handles need to be 32cm apart.
Thanks
Pete

Have you tried screwfix, we got our taps and a replacement pedestal from them They have a website and you can order their catalogue.0

The handles on your bath will more than likely be unique to the style & model of your bath…I doubt that there will be a universal type of handle.
If you know or can find out the model name of the bath your best bet may be to contact the manufacturer or a stockist.

bath handles are usually specific. if you know the make and model you have nearly cracked it, then see a bathroom specialist who should be able to help. there is a distinct possibility that the bath if old may be discontinued then you are looking for a match and for that good luck0

And 90% you will have to remove the bath the gain access to 1 of the handles, unless they have a grub screw to release the handle.
Best thing to do, is take a photo of the bath and handles, then take the pics to a bathroom merchant.0 -
Hi,
Just a thought, but do you actually want/need the handles? We got a cheap secondhand bath for a new bathroom a few years ago. It had handles which we didn't want but otherwise the bath was fine. We removed the handles and instead inserted two kind of cap like things. They screwed in and covered the hole completely. We have silver/chrome fittings in our bathroom and the screws were also this colour so blend in and have a pretty design on. As you won't be able to get behind/underneath to tighten the screws and there's nothing for them to grip to, you would need to find a type similar to those special screws you use for hollow doors that splay open as you tighten, if that makes sense.
I didn't manage to find any over here but my uncle was able to source them for us in Spain (where he lives). There may be someone on here who can recommend a source if you did want to go this route.
Good luck.

But the handles have to be removed first0 -
A few years back I needed to revamp some bathroom fittings that I could not match so I took them to a local electroplaters found in Yellow Pages who re plated them ..still have to take them out and the back one might be a pain or as I have seen in some bathrooms ..impossible whithout moving the bath.

Thanks for all the advice. I'll try and get some new handles - if I can't find a match I'll go for the screws in the holes or the elecroplating - i'd never of thought of doing that in a million years - cheers0
