Heating Engineer - Boilerjuice

I have used Boilerjuice twice to recommend a heating engineer for an oil boiler service. The first time was great the second time last week requires a cautionary note. Having arrived and seeing the need to vacuum out the boiler (alot in his terms) he sought to charge me £ 55/hour for labour (excl VAT), given the agreed total service cost was £59.40 (including Vat). Of course he also sought to stretch the truth about what time he arrived. You can imagine my response. Suggest anybody using this service makes sure the engineer knows what's been agreed. A contract to service is a contract to service and not opportunity to take the *****

I have on occasion turned up at a customers house who has an old back boiler that has not been serviced for years and is completely sooted up.

I too then charge more as it takes twice as long.

Yes but you started by saying this was an engineer recomended by BOILERJUICE.

They also make much of their 'order grouping' and 'comparing supplier prices' to achieve cheaper oil supplies.

I inevitably get a cheaper price going direct to my supplier and ordering just for myself.
