I have never been in the aiport lounges before, I know that some things are complimentary but what do you actually get?

They are all different. The pay to enter lounges are typically very limited, but have tea coffee beer wine and spirits. They tend to have crisps biscuits crackers, and some offer hot food. I've read recently that many if these lounges now allow one hot item only, then pay for more. Additionally they'll charge for premium drinks.

Proper airline lounges (for business, first and status passengers) have a far wider collection of far superior wines and champagnes. Constant supply of decent hot food, shower and spa facilites, cinemas and full concierge services. Others offer full table dining service allowing you to dine prior to flying to maximise sleeping time onboard.

There is no comparison.
I'm never sure why people want into these pay to enter lounges as they really aren't value for money. Of course you could make the same arguement about paying for business or first class tickets.

Do you folks know you can get free enter into proper airline lounges if you get someone to guest you in? Use a website such as ba97.com to match yourself up with someone. Far better than paying £20 for a warm beer and bag of Quavers.
