Doesn't mention red cross but says to

    Reset the power module
    1. Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the product.
    2. Unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet.
    3. Unplug the power cord from the power module.
    4. Wait 15 seconds.
    5. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the product.
    6. Plug the power cord back into the power module.
    7. Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet. Do not use a power strip, surge protector, or three-prong to two-prong adapter.

Wasting your time I fear santer, I gave similar advice a few posts back but it went unheeded. I suspect the OP has their mind set on buying a new printer and isn't actually that interested in fixing the current one. Some people just prefer to chuck more money at a problem, regardless of whether it will fix it or not.

    Thanks Santer.

    I'll try doing that too.

Time was off the essence unfortunately, so I went and got the one in the link that was kindly given.

I will still follow your advice for the one that was causing the problem as my son can take it with him to university if he gets in later in the year, so your advice won't go unheeded after all.

    Thanks again,

    Sally
