    Hi,

    many thanks for the info!!!

To be honest that is much better than I had originally thought, I had the turn of the year in mind at first, so for me it's really positive news!!

As I say I'll keep this up to date if I hear any more, and would much appreciate if anyone else who gets a more specific date could keep it up to date.

    Thanks in advance.

I am in the same boat. I choose to take the cash value as I have since emigrated to the USA and there was no way of transferring my UK pension into my 401K plan.

I sent my form back by the July 8th deadline, and am still waiting for the cash. Does anyone have a contact number to reach the pension folk at? I have not even check if they got my option yet :/

Please post when you receive your lump sum, I am really hoping that I receive mine in the next 2 weeks for my trip back to UK. It would save me the hassle of transferring money back and forth.

    Thanks

Above URL links to BT Pensions site, which currently has all contact details on the first (only) page. The site is being redeveloped and should have more pages available in August.
  • Hi, I am in the same boat, but because I am aware of the BT escalation process, i lodged a complaint with an advisor about the disinformation she was telling me, compared to what is said in the letter, as she would have no choice but to escalate, first to a supervisior and then a Manager. ( I had previously emailed them so that they confirmed that they had received my winding up option paperwork and bank details as well.), but she also said they hadnt received the paperwork, even though i had an email in front of me confirming that they had.

Managed to get a call back from a UK Call Centre (Result !!!), where they told me exactly what my plan wind up value was at cut off date (08 July) and timescales. Everyone should receive a letter by end of July, which now is only next week, with a detailed breakdown of the money available after the plan was dis-invested, and that payment should be in the nominated accounts w/c 14 August 2011

    Hope this helps . . .

    Thanks Vortigern and garyinpaignton.

I sent them an email yesterday asking if they got my choice of options, but still no reply.

That is good news that we can expect it mid-August. We shall see...

I called them this morning and they hadn't received my response. I'm now waiting on a call back to advise what happens next and was told it would take up to 5 working days.

I'm kicking myself for not using recorded delivery. I'm worried now that I might miss out on the lump sum.

Sorry to hear that dklunan. I just phoned as they hadn't replied to my email for a few days. Luckily they said they had received my response. And that we can expect it to be paid mid-August.
  • Probably still early days but I just wondered if any one had got their letter yet regarding the payment and when they will be made?

Thanks for the update, as a matter of interest had your lump sum amount changed much since the original amount on the pack back in May?

  • Hi all,

Have a bit of an update, have had confirmation via email that at the moment it is expected that payments WILL be made into nominated bank accounts from w/c 14/08 and that is also the same week that letters will be going out confirming gross/net payments, so its likely that the money will turn up in the bank before we get the letter confirmation. The total amount of my pension plan had increased by around £400.00 since the initial letters came out in May, and they have confirmed that as I am below the £18,000 threshold, i will definetely be receiving a payment. Hope that helps, but if anyone actually receives a letter through the post, or payment ahead of the predicted timescales, then it would be great if they could reply on here so that we can all breathe a collective sigh of relief .....
