And this season, the fashionable dogwalker is wearing....

what?
The reason I'm asking is that since we've had our beagle pup, I've been wearing an old pair of jogging bottoms and a jacket when on early morning walk duty (easy to pull on when half asleep
) but can foresee a time when that's not going to be enough - from either the cold or rain.
So what do you experienced ladies wear when the weather turns a little less sunny?

Well it does depend where you're going for your walk! Our dogs get walked through muddy fields etc so I usually wear jeans/tracksuit bottoms and a waterproof with wellies, but I've gone out in my pyjamas before now. If you're walking round town I'd recommend a warm, waterproof but relatively scruffy coat - I used to wear my good coat when walking them on holiday, but that stopped when I noticed it made the sleeves smell of dog

You need some wellies - I prefer the ankle high ones myself and a hooded parka.0

I just wear jeans, scruffy top and coat and my old boots, although the way my mutt is acting at the moment I may just skin him and make myself a (scratchy) fur coat!!!

you should just devote half your wardrobe to doggie appropriate clothes!
my walking wear consists of hiking boots, wellies, winter snow boots (similar to what kids wear), one thick waterproof jacket, one waterproof shell, few hoodies/fleeces, vest tops, a couple of jogging bottoms, couple of water repellent trousers (like you get from camp stores), waterproof pull over trousers, leggings to wear under trousers, some nice, warm, waterproof gloves, and of course a hat!
i also have a lovely fleece for the dog when it gets snowy, and depending on how wet it is, she also wears a rain jacket. we might look stupid, but clean up is a breeze when we come back into the house.
layering is essential for wintertime! last winter i would go out with leggings, jogging bottoms, waterproof trousers, along with vest top, t shirt, hoodie, thick winter jacket, gloves, hat, scarf. looked like a marshmallow but was brilliantly warm on the hour walk.0 -
In the really bad weather I love my woof wear boots

I can't stand wellies, my feet get cold and they don't support my dodgy ankle. These are wide enough to tuck bulky jeans/joggers into and soooo warm. I do wear short boots in warmer weather and live in my crocs all summer.
I also have a very old long riding coat, Drizabone type - it lives on the back porch because it smells when wet but it is very waterproof with loads of pockets and I layer clothes underneath it depending on the temps. With this goes my hat like this: http://www.mountainwarehouse.com/outdoor-clothing/accessories/hats-beanies/australian-waterproof-brim-hat-p2094.aspx
With this very fetching outfit I can take the dogs out and do the horses (even in a work suit) and come back with all except the outer layer clean and dry - saves loads of time in the morning.
Hmmm, wonder why people avoid me???:rotfl:0 -
I wear wellies all year round cos its wet here all year round and I walk in silage fields so need the long length - although Im loving orlaos boots
Then it all depends on the weather. In the winter of minus 17 it was tights, socks, thicker socks, leggings, and jeans. Vest, Tshirt, fleece and then my high viz padded jacket with snood and hat and gloves
Today it was leggings and a tee shirt
I wont walk out at night or early morning or in the rain without the high viz jacket on. I live in the country and there are no pavements - I need to be seen from a distance. Plus its warm and water proof- ish0 -
Jam jams with a coat over - early mornings
Old jogging bottoms/trainers/wellies (weather) other times
As long as dog is happy - do nto care who looks at what I look like

Wellington boots, mud coloured jeans, waterproof coat (with pockets for beagle treats!) which has a detatchable liner for summer/winter use. All washable of course!
Good luck with your beagle - ours is a 6 year old rescue we've had just over a year - love her to bits, and she's my husband's 'other woman'

You know something, I used to be a real fashion plate. High heels, tailored suits, latest styles... now... I like comfy, waterproof, warm/cool and suitable to walk the boys wherever they feel like going. Gotta say.... life can be very good when you've got dogs to walk!
